Senior Spotlight: Heidi Golznig
Heidi has been a performer her whole life - she started working as a model at the age of 2! That quickly led into commercial acting that brought her all around Wisconsin as the face of companies like Fleet-Farm, American Medical Security, Kimberly Clark and Shopko. In her early teens, she travelled to Minnesota and Los Angeles for Star Search, but her family wasn't able to relocate full time. She put off her budding acting career until she turned seventeen. She participated in pageants, finishing as the runner-up in Miss Wisconsin Teen USA. She then became a podium model for Monster Energy, and withdrew from UW her freshman year to pursue modelling full-time, featuring for Monster, as well as Rockstar, Nissan, Continental Tires, and Harley Davidson. She moved up through the modeling world, to IndyCar and the USA Pro Challenge.
After this whirlwind career, Heidi returned to UW to finish her studies, and settled into the theatre department. She continued to model, and currently works as a spokesmodel for Traxxas. She is also a perennial competitor in Miss Wisconsin USA, and has 6 runner-up finishes.
Heidi featured as Lady Capulet in UTA's 2017 production of Romeo and Juliet, delivering a powerfully emotional performance, and is grateful for the experience of a traditional rehearsal process after so many years of chaotic 'winging it.'
Most recently, she's done commercial voice-over for Channel 57 news, and auditioned for and had a call back for Fuller House. Heidi also plans to relocate to Los Angeles after graduation, and take an assistant position at Warner Brothers while taking more film-acting courses, as well as auditioning constantly as soon as she is in a position to work as an actress in Los Angeles. Heidi is so excited to graduate and pursue a career in theater and drama!
